What part of I DON'T THINK IT'S WORTH IT, don't you understand ?

Are you so stupid to comprehend I know it's not just 132 lbs. No Sh*t sherlock. I've been saying it's still ridiculous.

Of course it will be worth it to some people with more money than brains. You can put crap in a Fendi wrapper & you will have the Paris Hilton's of the world pay $100,000 for it.

It costs $80,000 more because that is what Nissan wants to charge for it. More power to them. IT IS MY OPINION that is is not anything close to worth it. Understand idiot ?

What part of my reference to the GT3 (Less weight & more HP), Ferrari Scuderia (Less weight & more hp), 2011 Ford GT500 (Less weight & SVT Package upgrades with lighter wheels, better gearing, etc) don't you get ? Maybe the part where I said LESS WEIGHT. BUT they added more hp AND less weight to make these models more distinctive & they didn't charge 2X the cost of the vehicle ! Is that hard for your pea brain to understand ? IMO, it's not worth it. Let me say it again for the fanboi (steponme) that rides the short bus - IT'S NOT WORTH IT. I know it's not just 132 lbs, but you can stick the best 8 piston Brembos on their, the best aftermarket suspension & it still wouldn't be worth it. I know they tweak the suspension & brakes, still a ripoff.

You want to charge $170K, then you better bring a Nismo Z Tune level car, not a car with some carbon fiber bits, upgraded brakes & suspension & call it a new car. It's an upgrade to the current car (which is already great), nothing more.

The only ape here is the kid defending his little wet dream Spec V to the hilt, going down in flames

Yes, I'm sure those rich Japanese men have less brains than YOU.

A $160K collectible Japanese car that can cream 99.99% of street-legal production cars in the world is not "worth it" to a redneck. What a surprise! But plenty of other inferior performance cars are "worth it" to him. WORTH? But he needn't worry, because he can't afford it or even have a chance to afford it. He doesn't know that the GT-R is legendary over there and this Spec V is extremely collectible to them. "Worth it"? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! What about some rich rednecks paying over $200K for some classic muscle cars that are rust buckets?

ok bruh, I'm neither japanese nor a redneck but lets cut the national/ethnic/racial bs out. I like japanese cars more than the next guy but you're becoming the bill oreilly/ glenn beck of japanese automotive enthusiam.

I highly doubt anyone in here is dismissive of japanese cars as we are probably all owners of an s2000 considering this is an s2000 forum. If the man doesnt like the price then he doesnt like the damn price. Who gives a shyt if it isn't available here. If thats the case then all cars not available in the US market should be banned from discussion as we are not allowed to form an opinion about them.

sparrow I don't think reason works here. Personally I haven't driven a GT-R. I really would like to but everything I've read about the car makes me think I wouldn't want to own it (ie having to live with the pros, the cons and the cost) as compared to a number of other cars. Higher on my list are the S2000, a C6 coupe of some sort (I don't like the soft top Vettes) or a Boxster or Cayman. The GT-R seems to come across as the smart kid who did well on the tests but wasn't the one you wanted to actually hang out with once the test was over. I sure don't see it as special the way the NSX was special. The NSX was ground breaking AND good looking.

It doesn't matter how much more HP/TQ they squeeze outa that TT 6 banger, the GT-R's got no soul.

It's a very, very competitive driving drone with a human interface.

^What did you think of the dual-clutch gearbox in the GT-R when you drove it?

Having driven a couple of them, the performance is very impressive, but the fun factor doesn't measure up to the bragging points. I'd rather track a Z06 even knowing that it would probably turn slower lap times, b/c it's a more visceral experience.

You keep talking about these rich Japanese men and then you go on to say "Don't worry, you cant afford it anyway."

...so why are you worrying about it?
