458 ugly
Not the best-looking Ferrari ever. Details like the mouth and triangular vents adjacent to the headlights are a bit awkward looking to me, and the back is kind of bulbous. Still a gorgeous car, I don't think it's ugly. Just overweight...
I love the 360. The 430 was a 360 that didn't look as good. Like many body updates often it seems like the designers are just trying to tack on changes because they were told to change what they all agreed was the best design the first time. Really, how often does a designer say we will make the original version ugly so we can sell an update?
Where as I can't think of anything I don't like about the 360 the 458 isn't perfect. I don't like the Enzo like tail lights. I haven't liked that design on any Ferrari so this is no different. I also don't care for the over styled headlights. I kind of liked the old days when exotic makers ended up having to use rather pedestrian lights from trucks and the like. It meant they made sure the total package looked good rather than focusing on a single part of the design. The gaps are also a bit off. Functionally I appreciate them but I agree that the gaps on the sides of the headlights look odd, like something is missing.
Finally, I don't mind the plastic bits in the air intake but I don't care for the catfish center section. It looks like they are trying to remind buyers of the high nosed F1 cars. I personally think the high noses look bad and they only exist in response to other restrictions in F1 (note that Indy never bothered with high noses even before they went to spec cars
). Also, many things that looks good on an open wheel car don't look good on a closed wheel car. F1 noses are one of those things.
The interior is also an issue for me. The 360 is a bit dated but I loved it's interior. I don't care for the fake race car gauges nor the tacky race car looking steering wheel controls. It's not an F1 car and really I don't want an F1 interior in my road car. I also like real gauges. Finally, the HVAC controls and vents look like they were designed by the same Sony stylist who do those tacky boom box type stereo systems.
Like all modern cars I don't like the trend towards ultra low profile tires with very large diameter rims. The ratio of rim to tire and what not of the McLaren F1 looks better too me.
That said, I really like the overall shape of the 458. The shape is VERY nice and very interesting. So while I might harp on some details, the overall package is good, not quite 360 good but I would hazard to say better than the 430.

ive seen the 458 in person, its stunning..
THe 430 was a step back from the 360. The shark nose is ugly and the 430 over all is bland.
The 360 had beautiful round lines..

Comparing the 360/430 to the 458 (based on pictures, I've not seen a 458 in person) I feel like the former is a more classic shape, while the latter is beginning to look more Enzo-like. Probably the hardest thing for me to get over with the 458 is the headlights. However, I do have to say, it's growing on me.
Either way, I've never really found a Ferrari that I didn't find attractive (aside from the ones that aren't red
).
I looooove the 430, the 360 was also great, personally I prefer the 430.
Now between the 430 and 458... I dunno, at first I was gaga over the 458 but it's starting to wear off, maybe because it doesnt feel... familiar? to me whereas the 430 did.
I love both, cant say either are ugly or that one is better than the other, I'll just keep enjoying what pinifarina keeps penning up.

458 is just.. gorgeous. Stunning. Beautiful.
430.. meh. Especially that hideous front air intakes.
360 was absolutely gorgeous back in the day.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but wow.. 458 ugly?
