But yes the 458 is the most beautiful ferrari I have seen in awhile. (pics don't do them justice), but the exhaust note, while nice, is just too muted for me.
I saw a yellow 458 Italia travelling the opposite way while driving and was not impressed with the aesthetics at all. I dunno' what it is about the shape but it isn't my favorite Ferrari. The front portion reminds me of the "cab forward" car designs from Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth in the '90's.
I'm glad that there's others who agree that the 360 was better looking than the F430! It wasn't til the Scuderia version came out that I really liked the F430 body style (even then there's still design elements that I'm not crazy about - aka the front end, oversized intake vents - but the lower profile and redesigned rear end help a lot)
I think the 458 looks better than the regular F430 personally.

i think it is absolutely hideous... not "ugly for a ferrari" ugly... but just ugly per se
my order of recent model ferraris:
430/550/575
360
california
456
612/599
458
below the california i dont think theyre all that desirable , just aesthetically speaking... id squeeze a bunch of porsches, lamborghinis, astons, etc ahead of the 612/599/458 pack

It's the headlight design that kill the 458 for me. Actually, I think it's those things above the actual headhlights themselves. I don't know what they are, Ferrari's answer to Audi's LEDs that surround the headlights? Whatever they are, they should do away with those and keep the main headlights. Then I think it would be a great car. Although the body panel fitment issues pointed out in an earlier post don't bode well for Ferrari's QC.
