Wat if the Evo is the same weight as the S2000 then?
Have you ever driven one?
Talk about bias info.
This thread is retarded...again why do ppl like to compare these
two very different cars?

huh? he was correct. With the same whp, the S2K will not lose to an Evo with all else remaining the same. Get an evo under 2900lbs and we can talk about equal weight. People compare these cars because they are two of the best performing machines you can pick up new for around 30k. It makes perfect sense to me.
Stock for Stock. Don't go wat if this or wat if that.
Besides the price range is simular, they are two
very different cars.
everyone knows they are very different cars, but in the enthusiast world of comparisons, it doesn't really matter. There was no real comparison for the S2K until the GM turbo roadsters came out. The only real comparison to the Evo was the STI. everyone likes to compare performance to something, so S2k, evo, sti, 350z, g35, etc etc all get lumped together in one big 30k category.

Umm unless my brain isn't working, this is my first topic I've posted in.
And curiouz, I meant the average evo I will see on the street won't be much more than i/h/e, maybe some other minor stuff. I doubt anything is going to swap for a larger turbo and such for a car they normally drive on the streets.

Don't bother trying to keep up, and don't let it get under your skin no matter what they say. The only Evo owners that talk down the S2k are the ones that have no experience or real knowledge on them. On paper the S2000 is not that great looking performance wise, so you can't expect people to respect it.
Even if you do manage to start beating bolt-on Evos they will just point at the fact that you spent more money trying to get there, and there's nothing you can do about that. They will always have a reason as to why the S2k isn't as good, and I prefer to let them wallow in their ignorance while I enjoy my "slow" roadster.

Very different cars indeed. Evos are notoriously known from responding very well to mods. Even if you have enough money to spend, SOMONE WILL ALWAYS BE FASTER. Just a fact of life. Love the car for what it is.
You want to improve your speed greatly? Be a better driver.

Why don't you stop being a brain-dead street racer and not worry about crap like this?
As much as some of you would like to believe most evo owners respect us, it's just not true. While they may not come over to our boards and harrass us, but in their hearts they're looking down on us because of our weak points, and they get all pissy when someone on their board explains to them that the s2000 has way more handling capabilities than a 4 door sedan. Especially those novice evo owners that have had it for a couple weeks, they go straight to the name calling.
And that's just on the intraweb. In real life evo owners are even more idiotic, I've heard comments such as "we have a turbo, they will never win." It's as if they completely destroy the s2000. They only have a good chance of winning in a straight line, and if the s2000 driver is experienced that gap narrows. I'm not being "unfair" to evo owners, it's just generally what all the evo/sti owners think. They have awd, they have a turbo, they have more factory horsepower and torque, they don't drive a Honda. Only the true enthusiasts even give a shit about the existence of s2000s. The others just think of us as Miatas and Civics.
I don't know about you guys, but I don't want to hear that kind of crap.

That'd be the same thing as saying "my honda engine sucks, so I'm going to swap out for something better", not exactly what I want to do.
What do you care what Evo owners on the Internet think about your car? Dont' tie so much of your self esteem to what you drive.
I drive the S2000 because I think it's a fun and good looking car. I also know that the S2000 has very respecatable performance, and I've been able to tap into that performance at a handful of track day events each year. I don't need to street race anyone to get external affirmation of my choice in car.

Why don't you not jump to conclusions? To think I made this post because I'm a "street racer".. man it must take some weird imagination. Why is this topic so disappointing? I didn't expect these kind of replies, replies of how we shouldn't worry? That's so pathetic, we have a CAR, not a moped. We are capable of showing them our strong points, and we are capable of improving our weak points. Unless you ignore every single evo on the street that has ever tried to run you, we NEED more power, to at least be able to be faster than a couple evos here and there. Thank you for those who actually understand what I mean.

Evo's, Sti's, Rx8's, 350z's, etc, etc, etc, all have some say about
the S2000. You going to take them all on?
Get over it, enjoy your car and let them enjoy theirs.
There's a lot of worst things out there then being called
lack of hp and torque.
