Another S2000 vs Evo Thread
Umm unless my brain isn't working, this is my first topic I've posted in.
And curiouz, I meant the average evo I will see on the street won't be much more than i/h/e, maybe some other minor stuff. I doubt anything is going to swap for a larger turbo and such for a car they normally drive on the streets.

Weren't we just talking evo here? I heard the reflash for the evo can bring as much as 40awhp. As much as I don't want to admit it, that's pretty scary. Just that and i/h/e alone will probably put them at over 300.
We all know all wheel drive is superior at the stoplight, but provided a good launch is performed, will a 300whp S2000 be able to keep up with a 300awhp evo at the light? The s2000 is quite a bit lighter.

reflash, turbo back, MBC puts my brother's evo9 at about 330awhp. uh.. hate to say.. IF money isn't a issue, go FI. sideways is a good example of a fast s2000 with s/c. inlinepro can turbocharge your car for about 6k. (tuning and shit inlcuded, whole pkg basically)
if s2000 and evo has the same whp, s2000 will win from roll everytime. those boxes don't move that well up top, hell, rally cars don't usually go past 100mph, they stay sideways where aerodynamic aren't so important. from a dig its another story. o yea. s2000 is 400 lbs lighter too, plus we're rwd, awd also have more drivetrain loss.
but being completely honest to you, if you want to dump that much money in the s2000, say 6k for turbo just to stay with an evo that spent 500 to get to 330awhp, buy a used cobra or vette. enjoy the s2k for what it is

Well the thing that I don't understand is why it gets bashed on for being slower. Ummm DEE DEE DEE, N/A vs FI stock. Put a turbo in an S2k.
See I can make the arguments over and over again. They're two totally different cars, for different buyers. All s2k owners could have bought an evo, as all evo owners could have bought an s2k.
Anyways, Forced induction...or those mods that I said above. All those bolt-ons I mentioned should help you win from a roll.

Have you ever driven one?
Talk about bias info.
This thread is retarded...again why do ppl like to compare these
two very different cars?
Don't bother trying to keep up, and don't let it get under your skin no matter what they say. The only Evo owners that talk down the S2k are the ones that have no experience or real knowledge on them. On paper the S2000 is not that great looking performance wise, so you can't expect people to respect it.
Even if you do manage to start beating bolt-on Evos they will just point at the fact that you spent more money trying to get there, and there's nothing you can do about that. They will always have a reason as to why the S2k isn't as good, and I prefer to let them wallow in their ignorance while I enjoy my "slow" roadster.

I didn't encounter anything, so this wouldn't belong there.
And honestly, you have no right to tell me my goal is stupid, unless you like being picked on for something Honda never intended the s2000 to have in the first place.
Okay I apologize, "mildly" may have been a little too much. Lets just say.. an evo with i/h/e. I doubt I'd run into anything much faster on the streets.

Get a life and stop trying so hard.
