Btw, 0-60 in 5.5 secs, 1/4mi in 13.9 @ 100 is not slow by any means. By today's standard, it's pretty decent. Years ago, that used to be superb performance.

S2000 = light, agile, fun, "cute" sports ROADSTER, with an amazing gear box.

Evo/STI = fast, very "moddable" because of the turbo engines, fun AWD saloons, with looks of an acquired taste (some think they look cool, others think they look horrendous). I personally think they're between ugly and average.

With the S2000, one can lower the top and enjoy the sun, and I fit in the cockpit like a nice pair of jeans, but there are no back seats like those sedans. They can't be further apart.

Man...you bought the wrong car.

Evo's, Sti's, Rx8's, 350z's, etc, etc, etc, all have some say about
the S2000. You going to take them all on?

Get over it, enjoy your car and let them enjoy theirs.
There's a lot of worst things out there then being called
lack of hp and torque.
I'm sorry, but it's so annoying when we have to "settle". We aren't much weaker, the only things they are right about is that we lack the power. Everything else is either made up because of once again, how slow we are, or just said out of pure stupidity because they don't want to admit facts.

I can't believe you guys are satisfied with their insults. We're all in the same category, the 30k category. The reason we're so easy to pick on is because we just take it. If this is the way we're going to think, by all means fine with me, but in a couple years we're going to be constantly compared against civics and integras, the "lower" class.

Not satisfied, just mature. We don't care what they think.

It might help that I have one car that is faster than a lot of Evo's/STI's and I also drive an Evo IX everyday.

Not pushing back when someone pushes you is mature, but unlike fighting, cops aren't going to come if we stand up for ourselves.

Sigh I guess if there's nothing we can do I'll just improve my driving. After all, I'm nowhere near capable of handling a s2000 to it's maximum potential yet. Sorry if I offended any evo owners, just that some of you guys are ridiculous when comparing.

Why don't you not jump to conclusions? To think I made this post because I'm a "street racer".. man it must take some weird imagination. Why is this topic so disappointing? I didn't expect these kind of replies, replies of how we shouldn't worry? That's so pathetic, we have a CAR, not a moped. We are capable of showing them our strong points, and we are capable of improving our weak points. Unless you ignore every single evo on the street that has ever tried to run you, we NEED more power, to at least be able to be faster than a couple evos here and there. Thank you for those who actually understand what I mean.

As much as some of you would like to believe most evo owners respect us, it's just not true. While they may not come over to our boards and harrass us, but in their hearts they're looking down on us because of our weak points, and they get all pissy when someone on their board explains to them that the s2000 has way more handling capabilities than a 4 door sedan. Especially those novice evo owners that have had it for a couple weeks, they go straight to the name calling.

And that's just on the intraweb. In real life evo owners are even more idiotic, I've heard comments such as "we have a turbo, they will never win." It's as if they completely destroy the s2000. They only have a good chance of winning in a straight line, and if the s2000 driver is experienced that gap narrows. I'm not being "unfair" to evo owners, it's just generally what all the evo/sti owners think. They have awd, they have a turbo, they have more factory horsepower and torque, they don't drive a Honda. Only the true enthusiasts even give a shit about the existence of s2000s. The others just think of us as Miatas and Civics.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't want to hear that kind of crap.
I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm not a street racer either, but every few months, I always have a short encounter on the most longest, uninhabited streets known to man, with a car trying to race me. I've lost only once, to a modded mach1 mustang. I haven't gone against an Evo yet, but have wen't against an STi and that was dead even.

As I said though, I get what you're talking about. As many on here said, I really could care less what the evo guys think. BUT, it would be nice to show one up if the time came up. I used to get bothered by the underpowered talk too, but I just laugh it off now. They have forced induction. Take off that turbo, and they'll just be lancers with awd.

4.77 gears, 70mm Single exhaust, Lightened Flywheel, Drop in filter or CAI, VAFCII w/ tune, Headers, Testpipe, Remove spare tire and tools. I'm sure that would pull on a stock evo. And there's always forced induction via supercharger or turbo. that coupled with all the other mods, you should be well into the 12's.

Have you ever been to the track before? If not, you should, you'll get a better admiration for your car after that. When I went, I realized I didn't need the power...unless I was in the aforementioned street encounter where I race an Evo in a straight line, which I don't care to spend or waste money on. So if anything, I say get some track time, best bang for the buck mod.

Heart warming .

I will strive to be better than them, always. We already surpass them on the highway, from a dig it's all a matter of a good launch and enough power for the situation.

Because every post had something about stop light or STREET in caps. I'm just crazy like that. I have owned both cars. They have their plusses and minuses. Stop worrying about what others think about your car. You will live longer..and happier.
