Default any affordable mid-engined cars?

The cheapest I can think of is the Elise. I'd really like to buy one next but can't afford a Cayman. I hope they bring back the MR2 back from its mid-90's glory. Can anyone think of any reasonably priced mid-engined cars?

I liked the MR2 turbo. Seems to me to be the only affordable mid-engine I like. The Elise and Caymen at too much money for me although I like the Elise and love the Caymen.

I took a Cayman S for a weekend and did not like it all that much. Don't get me wrong- it is gorgeous, quick, and dynamically sound, but it just doesn't have the edginess that the S2k has. I love the Elise.... I mean, I love the Elise. I can't think of another car under $150k that I would rather have.

But back on subject... Why exactly do you want a mid-engined car? If it is for weight distribution, then there are plenty of front-mid engined cars out there (I think Honda makes one...)

I think he meant more specifically a rear weight-biased car. MR-S fits the bill.

Yeah the V6 GT model.

And the FIAT (Bertone) X1-9 with factory light weightener (rust).

Fav would be the original 1.6 Supercharge MR2

yeah, if you can't deal with the lack of creature comfronts of an elise, then for the same price you can land yourself in a low mileage, well maintained used nsx.

also, a slightly used or even new boxster S would also be a good choice. sure, it doesn't have the rigidity of a cayman, but you do save a bunch of money.
