Yes a ls1 FD is actualy slightly lighter then the 13b rotatry motor, mainly because all of the vaume lines the accompany the rotary. I love v8 sevens i say go for it
The other day at the Infineon drag strip, I saw a FD with an LS1; it ran a 11.8 on the quarter mile and it wasn't even stripped. Dude said he was gonna put a turbo in that thing!

Actually I have heard 2 different stories. From the Hinson site they say it weighs less, from the SCC article they say that the LS1 engine still weighs slightly more than the 13B motor. In articles they say it adds about 60 lbs. to the front end. Not a massive gain in weight, but it isn't lighter.

They have been working with the LS6 & are looking to put the LS7 engine in there. Just crazy.
