5 grand or more off MSRP for a Z06 is an incredible deal considering what you are getting. The thing about the sports car market is that it floats on impulse purchases and the next big phenom is on the horizon several times a year. I'd be happy to drive a few-year old Porsche, or M3, or even S2000 or WRX. A 2003 Z06 is still a great car even if you'll be getting it in 2004 or 2005.

I think C6 will not be a leap forward to C5 like C5 is to C4s...

It's an out of state dealer but here is what is available now:
The last three 2003 Z06s @ $7000.00 savings...

These are the last three 2003 Z06s we will get. $5000.00 disc. plus the $2000.00 rebate.

My whole premise is that domestic car companies are having a fire sale and the bigger the price tag the more you can save.

Also I have to be able to walk away if the deal isn't great. Look I already have a nice car the S2000. I'm very happy with it. So in about 3 months I'll see what's up with the Z06's.

And if you add the $750 military discount, that's almost $8K off MSRP. And add $500 college grad discount (which everyone almost always gets) that's $8,250 off MSRP. Not too bad. With 0% interest for either 3 or 5 years, that's not bad at all.
I can get that much off a Z06...... Something to think about as a 2nd car. Let me know how this thing turns out and when the next time 0% for 5 years thing kicks in.

I am looking at getting the C6, but not until the 06' model year. When everything is fixed..

Why don't they make the Z06 in a convertible model?

FWIW a friend spent a week on vacation went to a rent-a-vette franchise and spent one day in the Z06, one day in the S2000 and one day in the C4S and he said that for "Fun-To-Drive" the S2000 was the best.

Dont get one. The interior is ugly and so are the rims.

The hard top coupe is a stiffer platform and a little lighter. But the real reason they did it is because they had stupidly designed a hard top model that was actually supposed to be a base (cheaper) model. This was for the 99-00 model years. The problem was it wasn't really much lighter or cheaper than the lift roof model. Maybe 100lb lighter and $3K cheaper. The exterior style is worse than the lift roof car so it was a spectacular sales flop. Less than a few thousand wers sold. So instead of killing it and losing all the development money they made it a Z06 and Viola they were selling like crazy. So far they have sold around 20,000 Z06's.

So they had no reason to make the Z06 as lift top or convertible.
