i think for future reference, we should separate and declare ourselves as torque or handles people. so very different that we can't even talk. personally, i dont get torque/power junkies.

Ask Mr.Clean about his cayman S. He went from the S2000 to the porsche. If it was up to me though, and I had that kind of money, I would purchase the Z06 although I have been told that people are having some reliability issues?

The main thing that stood out about the C6 for me was that is has more power than I need, certainly for the type of roads near me that I like driving. Triple digit blasts on the highway are not my thing, so apart from a 4+ hour drive to the nearest roadcourse, I don't have a need for such a fast car. The S is just about perfect, but as an extension of that, the CS would be great too.
That said, the main thing I have learned from owning an S is how great a convertable roof is in a sportscar, so really a Boxster S would be the best choice.

rai, everytime i come in here i see your threads on so many different cars. what car(s) do you own?
You should talk! I remember an S2k, BMW 5 series, BMW 3 series, Mazda, Mercedes for your mother, Mercedes for you. Thinking about buying an SL500 vs 911, etc....
Meh, we all love cars. My wife is tired of hearing me talk about potential future cars... but she humors me.
I'm sure Rai will answer shortly, but he traded the Passat for a Subaru Legacy.
The Isuzu SUV is next to go, but he's on the watch for the future S2k replacement, hence the C6 vs Cayman S thread.
My wife and I have been through a couple vehicles too: she settled on a B6 S4 and I picked up an FJ Cruiser for the nasty weather driving. After driving a bunch of vehicles that would cost >$30k more to upgrade, I realized that my current S2k setup (SC + gears) was pretty darn good. So I decided to keep the S2k a little longer and put some time and money into mods that further narrow the "comfort/luxury" gap of some of the other cars:
I can't believe I didn't install heated seats earlier!
Quietcar sound deadener is nice...
But now I can hear the crappy headunit.
Pioneer HU ordered, Speakers and Sub on the way!
Hood dampers took 5 minutes to install and gets the hood prop out of the way...
Just in time for a smaller boost pulley...
Sorry Rai for the thread whoring... I'm at work... it's too quiet... and I'd rather be at home tinkering in the garage.
And another off-thread.... Rai, are you coming to WTD 07? This is the first time (in a while) I've had some control over vacations and I'm going to try and go.

I have 4 cars
00 Trooper (next to go)
03 S2000
04 Sienna XLE AWD
07 Legacy Wagon
they may not seem like much, but they're paid for except the Legacy.
I'd like to keep the S2000 another 2-4 years since it's fine. I don't say its the best car in the world, but it's not bad.
I did consider trading the S2000 for a C5 Z06 but didn't feel the need.
At some point I will upgrade the S2000 could be a while, no time soon, but I was more considering this comparison between the Cayman and the Corvette since I noticed the price of the Cayman (non-S) is not far off.

I'd really like to, also am going to Vegas in the spring and may see about renting an Elise. The Ferrari rentals are too much $ (IMO).
