Its just a little smaller and better looking. Who new the 1zzfe would be used as a baby brother for the 2zz that is used in the Regular Lotus' ?

Better since it can comepete with S- if you think its fair.

I wonder if it will weight less then the regular elise.

People could probably buy the cheaper lotus elise S and swap a K20 into it. Might end up about the same cost as a regular elise though.

considering how the elise can finally be had for $2-3k off msrp (give or take where you go in ca), it would be hard to choose the elise S over the normal elise. Then agian, its not available for the American market, go figure

You think insurance for the S2000 is bad, lower the admission price for the Elise, and get a few more inexperienced tards in those cars to crack some clams and cause 5-digit repair estimates, and Lotuses (Lotii?) will be all but uninsurable.

Of course. It will weigh less but I dont have the actual #'s. You might be able to find out on a 3rd gen. Mr2 spyder forum.

Too bad this couldn't come over - at $36k with great fuel economy, it would probably be more true to the first gen Elise than the S2. Of course most people would look straight at the hp figure, but that's the US market for ya.

But it is true that Elises are going for 6k under MSRP now, probably not much of a buyers pool for a USDM Elise S.
