Civic Speed?
Has anyone actually driven the new Civic SI Coupe yet? I'm going to this weekend but I don't know what to expect cuz I've heard mixed reviews about it. It looks super sportier than any Civic I've seen in a long time though. I saw some cool pics here http://sema.honda.com but is it fast??
My guess is that it will be as fast straight line as the RSX-S. On the corners it will handle better and the stickier stock rubber will be good.
As for the interior, that only applies to the people who actually drive/sit in it.

I was wondering the same thing, as for the performance.
The specifications indicate it should be on par with an RSX type S, but the initial 0-60 mph times say different.
Civic, 0-60 MPH: 7.3 seconds - Car and Driver - Mfg. Estimate
RSX-S, 0-60 MPH: 6.2 seconds - Car and Driver
If this is true, I'm truly disappointed.

if it is that much slower, the gearing must be all F'd up. Who knows, maybe that car was just down on power or something...or the driver sucked.
I would imagine that this thing will be faster from a dig than the Type S as the 60' times are going to be a good bit better.

I could see Honda sandbagging on the estimated 0-60 to help from an insurance aspect.
Basically the same gearing as the RSX-S, possibly underrated engine (we'll see if the TOV Project Si is a ringer or not) producing as much or more power than the RSX-S, about 100 lbs heavier than the RSX-S.. the straightline performance should be close in similar conditions.

Huh? You sure that's the new Si? Edmunds.com got 6.7 seconds on their test, which is what they got for the RSX-S too. It seems weird that C&D woudl get such a slow time, since they usually experts at 0-60.

The cool part is this car is suppose to be even better in the twisties - it gets tha Integra Type-R's LSD. This car could also make Honda bring an RSX Type-R to the US since the comparisons don't do the Type-S any favors.
