Continuation of Socrates NSX thread
I ask this because it seems the 80k+ price tag seems to come into the argument. I mean you cant compare a 20k 1992 NSX to a 30k 2002 Z06 its not fair. The argument should be between a 2004 NSX and a 2004 Z06 to be even.
Here's the debates I've seen on NSXprime.
1) why buy a 99 NSX when you can buy a new 04 Z06 for the same money, Or why buy a 93-94 NSX (high miles) when you can buy a 01 Z06 (low miles) for $32K.
2) why buy a new S2000 ($32K) when you can buy a 93-94 NSX for the same money??
Here's a related question: Why buy a 04 S2000 when you can buy a 01-02 Z06 for the same money?
The reason is different strokes for different folks. To each his own. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. etc..

Steve C:
02 911 tt may be had for $80K or a 04 NSX for the same....
The 911 tt is a Faster car (no doubt), and it's better in some respects (more room, etc..)
However, the 911 tt is more common, and shares it's looks with tens of thousands of 911s sold in the last 4-5 years.
Just because a car is a better performer, doesn't mean it's more fun to drive. For example: NEON with 20 PSI of boost is faster than a S2000. I'd rather have a S2000 any day.
The 911 tt may not be as fun to drive, and may be more of an isolation chamber. The NSX may ask more from the driver to make the most of it's limited power and contact patch. (like the S2000).
The NSX (to me) looks better, more exotic.
If I see a 911 tt on the street, I say "cool car".
If I see a NSX on the street, I say "WOW, that's a COOL CAR !!"
I'm not putting anyone down who thinks the 911 tt is a better car than the NSX, or the NSX is overpriced. However by the same token, even a used 911 tt is overpriced against a Z06. The point is, the NSX is a great car, and "numbers" such as 1/4 mile times are not the the only thing I look.
For example the 911 tt X50 is probably a match for the 360CS for quite a bit less.... Does that mean the X50 is a better car than the CS.
People who drive glass cars shouldn't throw stones.

I still don't understand why we are considering a Used 911TT vs. New stock NSX argruement. I would think it would make more sense to compare a 911 to NSX and a 911 TT to a Comptech SC NSX. The price would be about same for a new 911/NSX. while the S/C NSX would be a little cheaper than a new 911TT.
MDXLuvr,
Well, if we're going to do that, why not throw in a Ligenfelter 427TT Corvette. Who wins then?
This argument is for argument's sake only, at least, let's keep it between stock vehicles.
I don't berate an NSX owner for choosing an NSX, just as I would expect an NSX owner to not berate a C5 owner over his/her choice.
BTW, I'd like to hit TWS with you, I may be going out there later this year in the fall with Driver's Edge. I'd love to show you my 1:56 lines out there.

the performance of a vehicle is judged by more than acceleration. The NSX could out-brake and out-handle the ZR-1.
The NA 911 is probably a BIGGER ripoff than an NSX.
Regarding the "exotic" comments. Would you marry a pretty girl who was as dumb as a box of rocks? Why accept such limitations in your automobile for the sake of vanity?
