Default Crome engine bay cost?

Hi,

I'm new to the forum.

Does anyone know how people chrome most of the engine parts (are they new parts or chrome dipped?...)

How much does this cost?

Thanks

Most are new parts, but the airfilter should be dipped, preferably several times. As for cost, you might want to check a BMW forum - I believe 95% of BMW owners chrome their bay.

People polish parts too, or paint air boxes, etc... lots of options.

Yeah, it will cost you your man card. You do that and you have to turn it in to the closest office.

First, hello to the forum. Now I should warn you to put your suit on...
Most people on here are not the type to chrome out the engine bay, just to make it blingtastic. Not saying you can't do it, it's just not something most do to a light/ nimble sports car (chrome adds weight you know). Now you can go about polishing up key parts like the valve cover, intake mani and so forth. This will make your bay look nice while not going overboard.

As for cost, I'm not sure, but I would think it will get expensive quick. For reference a friend of mine works at a chrome shop and chromed my hood latch (my car was apart, and he was being a smart A$$ ) I think he said it would run about $100 just to do that piece normally. My bay has alot of things polished, not so much chromed, take it as it's worth...
