Default Differences between '03/'04/'05 600RR

I was wondering what the principle differences are between the three versions of the Honda 600RR. Besides the color scheme, the '05 seems to have inverted front shocks and seems to be shorter and has a different exhaust look.

What do the differences do, and how are they different?

The 05' has gone on a diet, which it REALLY needed (still does), has the new forks, radial brakes, and new 1000-style swingarm. It's also supposed to have more horsepower. If you're buying a new '04, you may want to reconsider. If you're buying used, I've test-ridden them and they are great bikes. When they talk about mass-centralization, they mean it. Although the bike feels like a bit of a pig when just sitting on it, when it's moving, the fat just melts away.

The 2003 is a completely different bike. I guess it comes down to price--do you plan on adding a pipe and PCIII? If your 04 bike has this already, it may be as good or better than the 05.

Is this gonna be your first bike? If so, don't be dumb...

Well, I'm getting it used, and it has aftermarket pipes on it, not sure what brand though. I think that's the only mod, and yes this is my first bike...

There are probably hundreds of threads in every motor vehicle forum on the internet about that question. Do a search. Be smart and research before just buying a bike because you like how it looks...

here are a few from this board

As far as 03/04/05 600RR, a beginner rider probably wouldn't even know what USD forks, radial mount calipers, beefier swingarm, or any other new upgrades do let alone have any use for them. Even professional riders probably have limited benefits for upgrades like that. Heck, those kinds of things could even be worse for a newbie.

The consensus seems to be SV650 for beginners because it looks good and has a lot of learning potential. If you must have a honda, then maybe an F2, F3, or maybe an F4/F4i.
