interesting concept, but i think a lawsuit will drop that quickly. i would think the union could think of a "non-official " term for those not in compliance (scab?). it makes me wonder when someone builds a product for a company and is completely supported by that company, why they would buy the competitors product?

"You buy what you build," said Rufus McWilliams. "That only makes sense."

Thats a pretty derisory statement.

Uh yeah, I work for yahoo so i'm only gonna buy yahoo stocks. When google is at 430 dollars a share now.

looks to me like a desperate attempt to appeal to Ford corporate to keep their plant from shutting down...

I believe Mitsubishi does that too, in Japan. I have a friend who works for Mitsubishi heavy industry.

Ya, this is a completely unenforceable move, unless Ford wants to lone out what it can't sell to employees that have other-brand cars.

Xenophobia in any form is always seen for what it is: a lame attempt to cover for serious deficiencies in other areas.

thats been the rule forever though. My cousin, her brother, and mom all work at the F150 plant in Norfolk, VA. Last time i was there she was telling me that they give parking preference to Ford owners, and non owners have to park farther away. She drives an Excursion Turbo, her mom has a Vette and her bro has a vette, they have to park their Corvettes hella far...she gets to park her bus in the lot right next to the entrance....since then she got a Mercedes so she has to park in overflow....ford is retarded....next thing you know they will be firing people that dont buy their cars....

I wonder what all the management drives? They should only be allowed to go to work in Ford vehicles costing $30k MSRP or less.

A firend of mine who works at one of the Ford Dearborn facilities had his Jag colored on the windshield "Get this foreign piece of crap outta here" with yellow crayon. Amazing, since Ford owns Jag, they don't even know any better...

Most of the auto plants have been doing this for years, I don't think it has ever been written policy though. I can see the reasons for doing it.
