EVO 8/9 vs. S2000

3000 Evos made every year from 03-06 don't quite make them "civics" but, ...ok
And I'm not saying it's a civic in the sense that it's cheap car for the masses, but back in the day, the civic was THE car to have for people to mod - in terms of potential and availability. Now it's evo's/sti's.

I own an Evo IX and an S2000.
The S2000 is more fun and rewarding to drive. Chicks dig it.
The Evo is faster and more practical. Chicks hate it.

/thread.
The Evo always felt "cheap" to me. Feels like a cheap car with lots of expensive parts thrown in...the interior is an absolute joke, it feels like an economy car in there (just with expensive seats).
Sure it's fast and fun, but I just couldn't get past that cheapness when car shopping. But bang-for-the buck it's hard to beat. Along with the MazdaSpeed3 and Cobalt SS it's insane how cheap you can get a really fast car for.
S2000 is just a totally different vehicle...FMR convertible. I chose the S. **** practicality, I'm young and unmarried. I have the rest of my life to own a "practical" car. I don't give two shits about a backseat or big trunk when I've got the top down and the wind in my hair.
This is an interesting topic though. :-)

Owned both:
S2k: more rewarding to drive, can be a very fast track car for really cheap, big tires, big wing, tear the interior out..tough to beat
evo: much more practical, much faster in normal situations (40 mph in 4th and you need to go), easy to drive fast

I actually went and test drove an evo IV
Seriously, though, the S2000 and Evo (any gen) are two completely different cars. Do you want a 2-seat FR convertible, or a 4-seat, 4-door AWD supercar? (and, yes, I call the Evo a supercar)
Both are great examples of their breed. I used to own an AP2 S2000, now I own an Evo X MR. I'm now looking for a nice Evo VIII or IX to turn into a track car...

For what it is the Evo isn't very fast (STI is faster) but they look nice. The Evo X MR is 5.4 0-60 and the 2009 Subaru Impreza WRXSTI is 4.7 for less money.
I heard the interior is terrible? Never been in one though.

My wife hates the evo! Likes how it drives hates how it looks...
S2K on the other hand is the only car she`d want to have, i feel the same way too!
recently got another s2k(gpw) for me, since she keeps stealing my suzuka...
s2000 to be are better overall, i can live without my evo(but i do enjoy the power and torque of it). And for a sedan it actually looks nice in my opinion...
If i had to choose one of the two, it would be S2K... u can always supercharged it too

You can search on EvoM.net or google it. Mitsu only sent 3k evos every year to the U.S.

Looks like there isn't a real definite answer though as my searches are coming up with anywhere between 4 and 7 thousand a year. This was the only post I found that cited a source.
