go twin turbo 450hp to the rear wheels. this should help you achieve what you achieved with the s2k quickerer.
I dont plan on sc it until I have had adequate experience. I am just investigating future options.

Im a student at UNT (University of North Texas), and i drive an s2000 35 minutes each way everyday in it. Ive had no problems with it, but i guess im not much of a practical guy when it comes to cars. I would rather have excitement over luxurious amentities...but oh well, your choice.

Luxuries aren't the reason I don't want to be driving an S2000. Inexperience with a high strung car as well as the S2000 ability in poor wet conditions are why I dont feel an S2000 is practical for ME. (For me, I don't consider totaling an s2000 and spending two nights in the hospital after being airlifted exciting).

The thing is go test drive the G35, I don't think it's a downgrade or anything from the s2k just a different type of car. I think you're doing the right thing in thinking about what fits you best in reality, personally i wouldn't mind having either one, i'm happy with my s2k but I do love the looks of the g35 also and it has some good git up and go also. If i were you go for the g35 and don't look back, and have as much fun as you can with it.

G35 is a nice car! although its not as fun to drive as the S it might be a better commuter. buy it then if you dont like it trade it in for the S. I LOVE MY02

The G35c is the only other car that I would rather have than the S2000, I think it is a very good looking car, it seems to have adequate power, and hey, it seats 4 people. lol. I would suggest what others are suggesting, and go for a test drive. You will never know if it is the right car for YOU unless you have experienced it for yourself.

been a s2ki troll for a few years now and since I own a G35 coupe, I registered so I can help out. Depending on the S/C company, you'll put down anywhere from 330-380 hp from the s/c itself. The stage 0/1 of stillen's sc kit will give u around 330 hp and the higher stages of stillen, regular kits of vortech and procharger should give you around 360-380 depending on the tune. The most important thing about getting the sc kit is to have a good tune on it. Also, you only lose hp depending on which headers/exhaust you get. The exhaust that most people tend to lose hp is with the injen ses exhaust. I think you'd see a decent gain with crawford headers, hi-flow cats(crawford or kinetix), and a decent exhaust system(i'd go for the fujitsubo y-pipe and exhaust). With those mods, you should see around 380-400 hp. All these hp numbers are to the wheels so I don't confuse anyone.
I was looking towards an Evo or a s2k before realizing that I wanted more luxury than the evo, and rear seats to help with practical reasons. That is how I ended up with a G35C. hope this long post helped you out in some way. heh

Why not get a used Prelude, spend less money so you'll have to work less... and use the time to study more so that 15 years from now you can buy the Skyline...
