I've got a 12" sub, two amps, and the full trunk+doors lined with sound deadening material. I'd say a solid 50-75lb of stuff, and all but 15lb is easily removable when I occasionally auto-x.
My car sounds amazing at 70-80mph with the top down. Stock I couldn't even hear the music.

I get why audiophiles like having all that equipment, what I don't get is why the hell do you need that much sound beyond the point where you can hear every last detail of the music, I mean it's just plain uncomfortable having your bass on that loud. And no, it's not something you get used/immune to, your ears are losing its hearing ability which is indicative that its detrimental to your health and probably painful in the process. I mean bumping it is cool, but to the point where the car next you who has their windows all the way up can hear just as clearly... that's just excessive.

^^^Ok, this I can agreed with. I am an audiophiles, but running 4 15" 5000watts rms on an SUV without even using it for competition is mind blowing insane. Maybe I'm not a true audiophile, but if that the case "I rather be a little bitch than someone bitch".
