Well my wife and I have been doing it for 3months now with only 1 kid friendly car- sold the Fusion so we just have the Mustangs the S and the Expedition-

Lets look at some things though-

1. she has an 09 toyota corlla S- dude it aint going to break- if it does renting a car for a few days is cheaper then buying a new one

Counter point-

1. I can tell you right now- you will want a bigger car - the corrolla s once you start taking strollers and diaper bags and everything else places isnt going to be easy

good point on the breaking, but what if she is stuck at work(her being a nurse makes alot of sence for her to work late) and can't pick up the baby?

as for the counter point. I've fit all of that in the corolla...trust me, it's big enough...

E90 M3

If it's down to the Evo vs. the STI, I'd say the Evo is likely the better driver's car, the STI the better family/all-rounder car.

Be sure to look at the Evo X's tiny trunk, then try to imagine a baby stroller, other baby stuff you're going to haul, groceries, luggage, etc.

IMO, it's just not very practical for a 4 door sedan, but the STI has loads of space.

Subaru has some great incentives on the Outback.

I've always made fun of the folks who RUN out and buy a minivan when they get pregnant...but truth is...it makes life sooooooo much easier.

Not that I know from having children...but my brother in law's and sister have kids...and having a minivan or equivalent makes a trip great!

Side note...my Passat was in the VW dealer for service and they loaned me the new Routan (horrific Chrysler) and while it wasn't anything to get overly excited about...I did enjoy having it for the day with my many stops (I travel a lot for work). Having those remote doors...side and rear was pretty awesome...if not lazy as sin.

Good luck on your search.

dude...Have you ever seen the trunk? Yeah, it's not the biggest, but it's big enough for a stroller and diaper bag...my buddy has a ralliart(same size as the evo x) and he has a 1 year old...I don't think I'd have any problem...Thanks...

You're making payments on a Corolla and a 2000 S2000? What's your budget?

right now I have $763 going toward car payments...I'm paying 330 a month for the S. I'm going to be selling the S, so I would be able to afford around $450 payments.

EDIT: Me and my wife bring home around 30-40 a year, though the only bills we have are phone, insurance, car and about a $50 credit card bill...

I don't know much about the Ralliart, but I suspect it's trunk is much bigger. Mitsu puts the batter, sub, all the fancy electronics, etc. there to balance weight, but all that stuff eats up a lot of space. I don't believe they do the same for lesser Lancers.

I also would be concerned for Mitsu's long term viability in the US. In Austin, one dealer down south closed, and the one near me has a shut-down showroom, w/ a sign directing customers to the Lincoln-Mercury dealer across the street for parts and service. No salesmen, and the inventory was the same every time I looked. I couldn't get a test drive b/c there were no sales people to be found!

IMO, they're a one hit wonder, and the rest of the lineup isn't very compelling. OTOH, you know Subie isn't going anywhere.
