This thread is being loaded onto the shit barge...

Listen, RBS2K, everyone here is gonna give you advice (and hell) for your personal finances, etc. Just know that asking for advice on the internet is a toughie. Don't get defensive and know that there are 3 people out there...those who don't care (they didn't post here), those that want to help...and those who want to destroy.

Have fun!

As for the corolla S not being the safe car, why is that?
I am not suggesting the Corolla is an unsafe car, but once the kids arrive, trust me, parents get really over reacting about the safety of the precious cargo. If you won't your wife probably will. Once the mother start to nest, and they see the kids face pushed up against the driver seat when they are in the kiddie seat, they want something HUGE in a hurry.

And for all the crap being doled out about what you should or should not try to afford, thats your business. But kids are not free. What you can afford for car payments before they kid arrives is totally different from what you can afford after the kid arrives.

There is a guy I work with who constantly walks down the hall muttering to himself. When you say "Hey Jim. How's it going?" he always replies, "NEVER have kids, they just suck your money."

Out of curiosity...what do you owe on the S2000? What do you think you'll get for it/sell it for?

And...how did a Corolla S get to be over $430 a month in payment?
3 year loan. And we BOTH bring home 30-40 a year, totalling in 60-80k. Sorry if I worded that weird...

$50/mo credit card bill? Is that the minimum payment you have to make?
No that's not the minimum, the minimum is $36. But I pay $50 to $100 every month so that I can pay it off in a timely manner. Don't really have that much longer. just a few months...

Kids are like car lease payments. They keep getting more expensive. The difference is you don't have a car to drive.

It is like a black hole.

I'd give up all my cars for my kid. Cars are cool, but he's priceless.
