Its an old dealer trick. 90% of the dealers out there are vampiric scum.
care to elaborate? If it's such a great trick, what is it, and how does it benefit them?

Most dealers are just disorganized, like everyone above said, they probably did just give him the wrong car.

Please explain oh knowledgeable one the trick..........?

Probably the exact same model car with the wrong stock number and all they will need to do is license to you the correct car and register the correct warranty in your name.

And...........Why would the poster deserve anything extra from the dealer for what amounts to a paper mistake?

Why do you have to get anything out of it? is that how you do business? they are human, just go sign the paper and ask for a free tank of gas...... They may remember you if you come in later that you were not a jerk about it if you need some other assistance. Obviously you did not take a lower line car home..... be reasonable.

I dont understand why the dealer would want a car back after two weeks of use on it. Do they plan on giving the car to the intended owner with 2 weeks of mileage on it? If I were in opposite shoes, there's no way in hell I'd take a car that I purchased as 'new' and receive it after their mistake with 2 weeks of mileage on it.

my $.02..

good luck with this.
