They may not be direct competitors but I think they are playing in the same market, especially given the number of people that buy automatic 911s for daily commutes and showing off.
From a purely price standpoint, for sure they compare, and the Lexus wins on price 911's have got silly expensive in recent years, I still want one though.

LOVE the Lexus styling as of late. Won an autocross in one of these /brag. Handling wise, I would take the 911 over this any day.

Comparing them to Honda it's clear they're doing something special. But as the larger auto industry goes these cars are pigs and expensive.

Would need to the drive the LC before commenting on handling. More luxurious than a 911 and more back seat. LC is very compelling car for someone not wanting a German car. British and Italian comparable cars are more money.

The LC looks good, I'd guess Lexus are trying to sway more buyers over from the Mercedes coupes, similar to how they got previous S class buyers over to Lexus with the original LS.
4350# is heavy for a GT. That's like 200# more than a Panamera 4S or within the weight of one passenger to the twin turbo v8 7 series. A 911 makes for a good GT car. The Carrera S is under 3200#.

Love the design elements of the LC. Every other company is copying each other and they are all starting to look the same.
The LC is completely different and it looks amazing

I see them pretty often in Santa Monica/Malibu. Meh. Overall, not something I’d ever be interested at the price. It’s awkward looking and much too heavy.

Its under powered and this whole giant coupe thing (at least it’s not a 4-door “coupe”) is played out I think. I can’t imagine spending 100k on this thing. There are much better options. I applaud Lexus for trying, but I’ll pass.

The interior is a little cramped, entry/exit isn't the easiest and seats aren't all that comfortable to be a good GT. 911 is too sporty IMO for a GT.

Not impressed... at $90k+ why would anybody take this over a 911 Carrera Base or S? Not to mention the immediate depreciation hit once you buy it.
