I can see why someone would take this over any similarly priced new 911 very easily.

Although a 911 is quite comfy and luxurious, the Lexus takes it a step further. Think of it as more of a 6/8-series or E/S-class coupe alternative. I'd take the Lexus over those (which would also depreciate like a rock) in a heartbeat. Also $90k will get you a base, BASE Carrera. With any options you're over $100k even for a non-S. Most S's are optioned to $130-140k.

Reliability, lower maintenance costs, more options for the money, Lexus customer service, comfort...

 

Toyota is the pinnacle of engineering for the money at all price points. The level of testing done to Toyota products has always been at the top of the industry. Then there's the looks and exclusivity. 911's are dime a dozen. Unless it's a unique color or GT* car, no one really gives them a 2nd look. If you pull up to a vallet in a 911, you have to ask to keep it out front. Do the same in the LC500 and it's a given it will sit out front. LC500 is for someone who wants the best of Japanese engineering and design without all the Fast & Furious elements. A car for a mature driver.
