Default Mazdaspeed 6

I'm sure people have talked about it before on here. Edmunds.com did a test on it and liked it. Looks like the intended audience is somebody who wants to trade in their wings and boxy like cars (evo, sti) and want something like an Audi 2.0 Quattro and BMW 330xi for less

Looks like a pretty decent car....hmmm, hello daily-driver? I'll have to go testdrive one sometime and see how the handling is.

you hit the nail on the head.

That should be a good comparo. The Legacy weights in some 2xx lbs lighter.

Regardless of this car's competitiveness with the Legacy GT, I think the MazdaSpeed 6 is a badass-looking car. It looks like it's ready to kill something.

I know the Legacy GT is considered the cream of the AWD family car crop, but won't a similarly-equipped Legacy GT be over $30k easy? This 6 is supposed to go up to about $28,000. plus it's got about 24 more hp.

Oh I agree. If I didn't already have my LGT and was in the market today, it'd be a tough call which one. I really like the MS6.

Now on to the other part.. The MS6 *starts* at $28,500. The MS6 Grand Touring is comprable (features wise) to the LGT and starts at $30,485, where the LGT starts at $28,795 (for 06 the LGT is only available with the "limited" package) It may have 24hp more, but it also weighs 225lbs more, so that will affect it.

OTD prices should be pretty much the same.

my LGT was 26300 before taxes with many options.

I thought the reliability for Mazdas lately has been poor which is one of the reasons I would avoid them.
