i don't think either car is FUGLY
if anything I think the EVO looks a little nicer
the Sti is very rounded off and then it has a big blocky wing
i'm not really feeling that
I want a car that I can drive throughout the year
i'm not interested in making it faster
since both already have good power
I'm going to the dealer on Friday
my friend wants the Sti so he's going with me
maybe we can get a good deal if we go together

My big thing would be reliability down the line, of course that is the last thing in anybodys head when they look at cars. But at this point I think that the STI will be a better overall daily driver and as soon as they get the ECU worked out the aftermarket will explode for the car. If it was me, the STI win's simply because that last .1 sec is not worth the trade off of possibly bad mitsu reliability, plus the STi is just more daily drivable.

check out www.evolutionm.com. a car that i paid 30,812 two months ago is now worth 24,000 dollars(retail) with less than a thousand miles.
They also have a clutch issue that mitsu will not cover as well as a non-clear coat paint that doesn't hold up. in fact i am so displeased with my evo that i have sold it and am looking into the S2K. IMHO if you want an all wheel drive car go with the STi.

Evo:
Pros-
cheaper
better driving experience
better looking
not owned/controlled by GM
Cons-
will lose value as fast as a Cavalier
owned/controlled by DaimlerChrysler
cheaper
almost guaranteed to fall apart in 1 year (I hate following any Mitsu, because I'm worried about nuts and bolts falling off of the car & hitting mine)
ricer fantasy car
absolute bs marketing scheme. Sooner or later Justin Timberlake or Eminem will be the Mitsu spokesman.
STI:
Pros:
quirky looks
better resale
reliability on par with the real big three(Toyota, Honda & Nissan)
fantabulous aftermarket support (Evo will soon follow)
most owners are usually god-honest car nuts(similar to S2000 enthusiasts) I've never met a Suby owner that I didn't enjoy talking cars with
Cons-
more costly
controlled/owned by the "other" evil empire(GM)(Microsoft being the primary)
less visceral driving experience
ricer fantasy car
