didn't they use Valvetronic in this? I don't see the parts for that above.

no, Valvetronic was dropped in favor of the 8 individual throttle bodies... same design as the M5's motor...

with Valvetronic, they can adjust valve lift to suit the needs at the time. Of course, the system is very heavy and complicated, needing many parts.

the ITBs, located close to the port, can do something similar. The valves are always in high-lift mode, but the close throttle body can only let the right amount of air in.

still, I think with Valvetronic they may have been able to fatten the torque curve a little more and get maybe 20HP at the top end.
