Why the heck is that thing so heavy? Its supposedly a sports coupe, but it weighs more than the Accord? It has a nice powerful engine, but IMO, on the wrong body. I mean, 0-60 in 6.8 s is still fast (for the GT model), but I wonder how well it can take turns. My friend just got an RSX-S, and that thing is faster and handles extremely well for a FWD. For the price, I think this new car doesn't offer anything more than the current Type S except for front space (but backseats are still "cramped" according to Edmunds).

Except the 3000GT SL was RWD
Infact, it was not. Both the 3000GT base and 3000GT SL were FWD. The VR-4 was AWD. Those were the only drivetrains made.

Tough to compete when your brand new car can not meet what is already available. They will get the boost in sales based on the "its the new thing" appeal but time will tell after that.

I think it's the best-looking Eclipse ever, but it's still utterly uninteresting. The interior seems nice, but I doubt this Eclipse will be overly popular. FWD in this car is a problem.

Let's see.....

Honda S2000 240HP/2L = 120 HP/L
Nissan 350Z 298HP/3.5L = 85.14 HP/L
Subaru STi 300HP/2.5L = 120 HP/L
Chevy Corvette 400HP/6.0L= 67 HP/L
2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse 263HP/3.8L = 69 HP/L

Apparently Mistubishi isn't F 'in around anymore. They are takin names in the engine technology department and chevy is going down!!! BUAHHAHAHAAHAH!!!

Power/liter means nothing in the real world, power/weight is more important than bragging rights.

Meh...numbers are just a starting point for me.

All I care about is how enjoyable the drive is.

I lost all interest in an Eclipse once Mitsu stopped offering the 2.0L turbo.
and looks like Mitsu revived the Mercury Cougar
