NOW thinking about getting an STi!
you sure?? the headlights look the same to me.. thats one of the reason I like the 06 over 05 unless theres a tiny difference.

07 off google picture...lol

now the 07 I found on google has a completely clear diffuser but the one i found on subaru.com (was unable to copy photo) has an amber diffuser.
Edit: I think the 07 has all chrome tail lights tho possibly
Anyway, not trying to prove anyone wrong just making sure the 06 (all i can afford
) is not the same as 07, and its the 05 its being mistaken for... wild guess tho

Besides, the reliability of the STi vs. the Evo is night and day.
Evo's are rock solid if you know what you're doing. one thing the 4g63 doesn't seem to be as prone to rod bearing failure as the ej257 (at least according to nasioc - internet information...take it with a grain of salt) - don't launch the car like an idiot and your transfer case will be fine

the STi's ~500cc more of displacement makes the car much more alive off boost, but up top the Evo's bigger turbo from the factory is another kind of fun. for people used to waiting for vtec it's not a big deal.
Evo's quicker steering is what makes it feel much more (IMHO) nimble than the STi.
i've seen quite a few completely destroyed Evo's (personally know someone who spun out at 100mph on the highway and the whole car survived) - yeah most Evo drivers are crazy, but then so are STi drivers - but the point is for the people who lives to tell the tale, the Evo's structural rigidity doesn't seem lackluster. i personally don't think it's that much more of an unsafe car compared to the STi. if any car (maybe short of a Volvo
) is crashed hard enough, passengers won't have a good chance of survival. is the STi going to increase the chances of your passenger's survival that much more than the Evo? i personally don't think so...take my personal anecdotal experiences with what you like lolwith "safety" out of the picture, it's a matter of your priorities.
performance: more lag, better response to bolt-on's, more power on stock block, iron block vs. aluminum, closed deck vs. semi-open (will you be leaving the car to near-stock?), sharper steering, less interior amenities....your pick.
in terms of reliability if you know what you're doing and you got a car from a knowledgeable and responsible seller you'd be fine. at this point i feel more safe putting bolt-on's on the Evo than the STi...STi's don't seem to like manual boost controllers (a typical upgrade for factory turbo cars) so you have to tune the boost, which complicates things (relatively speaking) and open room for more possible errors, and makes putting initial bolt-on's almost also needing a tune at the same time (adding a downpipe on the STi usually results in over-boosting which leads to fuel cut - Evo's takes care of this with MBC's without needing a tune at the moment...)
sorry for writing a book, but i love both these cars and happen to have an s2000 too, i will tell you the Evo/STi will not feel as balanced and "natural" as the s2000 in the corners, esp. at turn-in and mid corner (less body roll) - AWD + 60/40 f/r weight distribution and much higher center of gravity and a bunch of electronic gadgets and computers (i.e. more so Evo) in a sedan != a balanced and 450 lbs lighter RWD roadster in the corners in terms of driving feel (which i value a lot), but it's a great compromise since you'll have 4 doors 5 seats, useable trunk and a good powerplant to build off of for easy and relatively cheap power. plus leaving a corner at full throttle without much need for countersteering is mad fun - these cars really to a certain extent "drive themselves" - which could be fun or less fun for you - you can get away with more in these cars and they can make you look like a hero without you having to put in as much work.
disregarding driving feel (which is subjective) these AWD turbo's are not bad (
) at all around a circuit, the s2000 might be better at dodging cones, but AWD with proper suspension set up can rule the track (check out Mueller and AMS for their track records) - not that the s2000 can't, 240whp n/a s2k with minor suspension are very mean on tracks too
it's all about preferences - go get as much driving/seat time in the Evo/STi and make up your own mind
t3h internet can only tell you so much.

oooh i see, ok I was mostly looking at the design..or i guess shape of the headlights. I trust you
.
I didn't drive an EVO yet but I have 2 friends that own STis.
1 is an '07 stock, the other one is an '06 w/ quite some mods.
Boy, are they fast!
Seriously, it's scary fast.
And like others mentioned, it's a totally different car from an S.
Daily practicality is
