Damn right. The 1series is no oilpainting but it looks MUCH nicer than that STI IMHO. I couldnt have an STI as on only car. It dosent look agressive to me. It looks cheesy with hose flares. They went in the WRONG direction with these cars. Have you seen the 4door WRX in person??? haha...no wonder.

I'd be much more comfy in this.

yea, go ride your whale with down syndrome.

I like the looks of the STI (though I think it probably costs too much), but, from reading reviews of the car, what stuck out to me was the car's 5-60 mph time, 6.9 sec., I saw in one rag (probably Car & Driver). The review said that in 1st gear, there is nearly no power until after 3K or 4K rpm due to turbo lag. No thanks. As goofy-looking as it is, at least the 135i makes nearly instant torque and won't be outrun by an Altima from a roll (and I don't even street race).

If I'm racing at 10mph... clutch in, rev, drop.

If not, then I don't mind a slow 5-60mph time.

I'm really, really thinking I could replace the SUV with one of these for a utility car....

You cannot underestimate the practicality of a big, wide open hatch.

Wife just gave the approval for the current STi as the only Subaru she'd remotely tolerate... that's good, right?

I'm thinking test drive....

ive seen two subsequent test that had the new STI going 5.0 to 60 and 13.5@101. more or less a s2k wagon speed wise.

^ 0-60 isn't the issue. My understanding is that with this car the best 0-60 is generated with a clutch drop at around 6K rpm. You wanna do that on a regular basis (particularly with an AWD car)? The 5-60 time shows what the car will do from a normal stop without an extreme clutch drop and also seems to show that it has significant turbo lag in at least 1st gear. I'd rather have a more linear power delivery, such as in the 135i.
