Before my 02 spa, i had a 99 miata. I bought the sport package which included Bilstein shocks, uprated springs, 15 inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 195/5015 tires and a front upper strut bar stock. Oh yeah, also had a LSD.
This car was not soft and it handled phenominally. In fact, i still miss my car dearly. Truly an amazing car to drive and throw around. Sure it lacks a little power, but with the available aftermarket parts bin for the car, it can easily be a real monster for under 25k.
I totalled her in a bad accident only a year after i had it.

Yeah well you can't beat the value of a used Miata -- as their really is no competition.
I would love to drive an SCCA Spec Miata to see if I fit, the price is right and it sounds like a great time.
Is your EVO in yet Cravnpup? I will be back in town the week after this one and really want to drive it. Hurry up and get it broken in.

docofmind......it's just rigid enough to keep you alive in an accident..... :: I have had two potentially fatal accidents in Miatas and I have a new respect for a "strong" chassis that's this light......I can't imagine the kind of abuse the S can take.

keep in mind the faults of only weighing 2302 lbs.......(my most recent weigh-in) I think that is why it is so difficult to reduce the weight on the S
Must stoppppp my self.... cannot remove interior.. must not ....... arghhhhhhhh might try it just to see how much better she handles and how much faster she can go.

Here is a gutted and caged S2000, unfortunatly his tips the scales at around 2500 pounds -- but is probably the stiffest S2k around...

On the plus side, it really was an awesome machine.. Felt like it was on rails.. Could use a bit more power though....
Anyway, I picked up a 2000 Tahoe on Friday, so no sports cars for me for a while... I'm actually oddly relieved with the turn of events.... I must be getting old...
