Finally, a noob with some common sense. You'll have 100 times more fun learning on that thing than learning on the latest super-duper high tech crotch rocket. Just look at the how long to get comfy thread. That guy is not exactly having fun right now...

yep... that Magna (is it?) or a EX500 is what informed people start on
sorry, forgot to include the details. It's a 1979 CX500, I don't know too much about the bike, but I bought it for 500 bucks, starts up everytime although it probably could use a tune up. I bought it from the second owner who owned it since '82. I didn't ride the bike yet since I still have to get all my riding gear, my lisence and transfer the title, ect., but I bought one now since they are dirt cheap at this time of the year.

I just bought my 08 R6(first bike) in June and im having tons of fun. I rode my buddies CBR F3 and its a total HOG, glad i bought the 08 R6 as my first bike.

While i agree some people require a less powerful bike as their first bike, i wouldnt say it holds true for everyone. My opinion of course
No

Well done, that is a perfect first bike =). My first bike got beat....alot. Dropping a newer liter bike or 600 isn't cheap, dropping your bike means you might have to wash the dirt off it, lol.

love it. i got to test ride one when i was picking up my 1098S and that thing is a lot of fun. It has me considering skiping the next gen R6 and getting that instead with the new R1 along with my 1098S.

Yes it is the LP stand, I like it a lot better than most the others.
