I know this is not a Mazda forum, but wanted to get you guys' thoughts on a problem I've been having.

Bought a new 2018 CX-3 at the beginning of the year for my girlfriend. About a month later the windshield cracked on the highway. Since then we've been trying to get it replaced with no luck. We've had about 15 windshield replacements appointments, with about 4-5 different companies. Everyone brings the wrong windshield and says it won't fit. The newest thing we heard (just yesterday) is that we have the built in Canada option that has a different P/N for the windshield. Apparently that P/N has been on backorder for a while and they have no idea when it will come in.

Talking with the Mazda dealer that we bought the car from, they want to hold onto the car until the backordered windshield comes in or they won't order it. It's been like 6 months with a cracked windshield on a brand new car. It sucks.

Any advice on what I can do to get this fixed? Who should I try and get in contact with?

Also, I have several friends with brand new Mazdas and every single windshield has cracked. A buddy of mine upgrades his lease every year and has cracked each one. This seems to be a chronic Mazda problem.

 

Tell them you're happy to leave the car... If they provide a loaner. Otherwise wait until it's no longer backordered.

FWIW, no issues with the windshield in my cx5, nor a friend's cx5, nor another friend's 3 hatch...
