I'm pretty sure you can own one in CA now
I've saw a guy tracking his at Streets of Willow 2-3 years ago. It was pretty slow compared to a mildly prepped S2000 with square wheels/RS3s, wing, coilovers, and minimal motor mods...

Anyway, i'm sure it's a cool nostalgia car, like all the cars from that era (e30 m3, aircooled 911s, nsx, and so on).

Yes and no. Yes you can get one in CA (where there's a will there's a way) especially now that R32s are importable because of the 25 year law, however you cannot register one in CA because the engine was never sold in CA. However, you can make certain modifications and have a ref Bar if for you, but it's a lengthy and costly proposition, almost as much as buying the car. I love the nostalgia and relative rarity of the car, but I'm not dropping 40k+ to get one with CA plates on it. Yes you can register it out of state and drive it around, however cops can impound your car if they know the car has been in CA for more than 30 days, so if you get tickets and cops are almost guaranteed to pull you over if they recognize the car and see you're sitting on the right side to make sure the paperwork is up to snuff.
I would really like to import a silvia/180sx Ks since they're dirt cheap over there, but just not worth going through all the issues to get it properly registered in CA.
However I am looking at how NSXs and MKIV Supras will be affected, I know they don't have EGRs but otherwise those cars are pretty much the same.

I wish CA would just do the right thing and just make sure cars pass the sniffer test, I'd even go one step further and say fine if you want to swap your motor then we'll hold you to a newer stricter emissions standard, imo if it doesn't pollute then why the hell not. I read somewhere that the sr20det actually produces less emissions than the KA. I know some of these efforts is to get older cars off the road and to keep pollution down, but it's really mostly politics. And if you want to import a car, then fine charge a tax/tariff whatever so it would be the same equivalent to the state of you buying a new car.

I finally caved in and ordered a Tomei titanium exhaust. Easily my favorite purchase for the car thus far! No real sound clips of the car yet but I will post as soon as I get some.

I also removed the factory fog lamps for a cleaner front end and better cooling

I also replaced the oil pressure sending unit as the gauge would read sporadically. I was worried of low oil pressure as early RB26's are notorious for oil pump issues, but I'm happy to report that it was just the old oil pressure sensor that had gone bad.

Thank you! The paint has a watermarks from years of washing the car. I hit the hood with a compound and random orbital and it took almost all off it out. I need to make the time to do the entire car with a compound, polish, seal, and wax.

And as neat as the R32 is for the nostalgia, they aren't particularly good looking, IMO.

Now, R34, yes yes yes yes yes.

That is sexy and plays to my kid-playing-gran-turismo-inner-ricer-so-jdm. unf.
Can't wait when people start bringing those over in droves, like how people are flocking to the R32 bandwagon.
Agreed

Some R34's already in Canada (15 year rule)

Pricing around 15-30 CAD Depending on the model and condition

Couple of shots from tonight. I weighed the car today and ironically, it's 3232 lbs. without me in it. The cross balance is 50% but F/R is about 60/40. I'm really impressed with the HKS coilovers as this cross balance was achieved with no adjustment to the coilovers before install. I'd highly recommend these for anyone wanting coilovers with minimal to zero adjustment to install.
