S2000 vs. Crossfire SRT6
Maybe its me but i find something totally wrong with the crossfire and its sales reflect that. Its not an attractive car and for gods sake its a chyrsler lol If i had no other choice but to buy a chrysler product id have to get a grand cherokee or maybe a viper but wouldnt expect either one to be reliable for long term use
My Viper was/is FAR more reliable than my S2k was. The two Hondas i have owned have been the most unreliable products i have ever owned (outside a highly modified subaru).

My co-worker has a SRT-6 with the manual. It has ridonkulus low miles, maybe 15k. He is wanting to sell it. Still has the factory rubber on it. They are rare and this one is probably about as barely used as you can find. He says its pretty stinkin fast.
Chrysler did not sale the SRT-6 with a manual transmission.

My friend purchased one right when they came out and we took it to Renntech Mercedes for a remap and I forget the exact numbers but on a bone stock car and just a Renntech flash it made 340 rwhp and 300+ lbs torque @2700 rpm at the wheels . I drove it and it felt ok to me it really felt like the Mercedes that it is but other than that it is nothing special. We looked and looked and trust me there are no Chrysler parts on that car. it ran 12.90@108 bone stock and 158 top speed and 12.50@114 after the flash. The main difference I noticed is when normal driving say you make a turn all you have to do is give it 1/4 throttle and the 300lb tq propel you forward with such little effort and super quiet so you fly below the radar. The problem with the crossfire is if you have a problem say with the transmission it will be a expensive repair . Just to guess 5-7k for the tranny. My 09 E63 AMG had a trans replaced for 9k and thank God it was covered under warranty. My vote is get the s2k.
People with smaller pulleys, bolt-ons and a tune are not making this much power. Are you sure it was 340 to the wheels and not the crank?
Haven't had direct Chrysler experience since my "cab forward" company car, disappointing to say the least. Used to test drive and evaluate every 18mos as a company car replacement.
Chryslers are sexy exterior packages with junk underneath.

Wow I can't believe there would ever be such a thread. I owned an srt-6 for 4 years and I currently own and AP2. Let me start off by saying that the srt-6 is perhaps the most underrated, overlooked and undervalued car in recent history. I have owned many cars, too many to list. This thing is a German tank. It can easily run 11 second quarter miles with a tune intake and pulley on street tires. It's drivetrain is bulletproof and will take anything that's thrown at it. Many owners have dozens of passes with no issues. It handles like a dream , yes even compared to the s2000. The s/c whine is addicting and it has a TON of low end power. It's also relatively light and if need be, has room for a lot of rubber. I forget the specs on the brakes. The suspension is spectacular for city and track. Stock for stock it can keep up and even outrun an s2k on a technical autoX course.
Now, most seem to not like the styling. I liked it but after a few years I wasn't so crazy about it. The steering sucks, the s2000 whoops is ass in that department. The interior is nice, but a tiny bit on the feminine side. The cabin doesn't have that race car feel like the s2k. The headliner is a $300 fix and seriously, that should be the least of your worries.
I had 4 problem free years with the car and the only significant known issues are the s/c pump, o ring leak on the transmission and headliner. Mine only had the headliner issue. All very easy and cheap fixes .
I drag raced the car and it got a lot of attention on and off the track. It beat up on a lot of cars and no one even knew what it was and if they did they just knew of a crossfire. But not of an Srt-6 model. The car was very consistent. I even made $500 dollars off some asshole in a stockish c6 corvette. That was probably the best part of owning the car, the fact that it was always underestimated and very rare.
The s2000 is a completely different animal, as most would agree its more agile, aesthetically pleasing, is more of a drivers car , and has more aftermarket support. I love both cars for different reasons
If you want exclusivity, plenty of instant power, reliability and don't mind the 5 speed auto( which shifts a bit slow) go with the srt-6
If you want something a more agile, but not necessarily better handling( I've got my flame suite on) with better steering, don't mind havering a lot less power go with the s2000.
Of course one can't forget considering the subjective and intangible pros and cons, many will say the s2k looks better inside and out. High revving N/A or supercharged v6?Aftermarket support, and resale value are also things to consider. You can't go wrong with either, hope this helps.

Holy crap I just read some of the replys. First off nothing on this car is Chrysler or American made. The Srt-6 was built and engineered in Germany. It is an AMG vehicle with Chrysler badging. It will be just as reliable as an s2000. Although should something go wrong it would be a more expensive repair.
