S2000 vs. Crossfire SRT6
Holy crap I just read some of the replys. First off nothing on this car is Chrysler or American made. The Srt-6 was built and engineered in Germany. It is an AMG vehicle with Chrysler badging. It will be just as reliable as an s2000. Although should something go wrong it would be a more expensive repair.
Aren't older German cars known to have reliability issues and to be very expensive to fix when anything goes wrong? Remember we are not talking about a new car here, this car is what 9 yrs old. In 2006 the SRT-6 was changed to special order only, according to Wikipedia, so it is probably unlikely that you are going to find one newer than 2005.
Who on here would buy a Merc, Audi, BMW for 15k that was 9yrs old and trust it for a DD?

Maybe its me but i find something totally wrong with the crossfire and its sales reflect that. Its not an attractive car and for gods sake its a chyrsler lol If i had no other choice but to buy a chrysler product id have to get a grand cherokee or maybe a viper but wouldnt expect either one to be reliable for long term use

My Viper was/is FAR more reliable than my S2k was. The two Hondas i have owned have been the most unreliable products i have ever owned (outside a highly modified subaru).
Not at all. I work with Honda but I have no problem buying any other brand of car like a Toyota or Nissan either. If something happened to my car i'd happily jump in a 370 nismo if I couldn't find another s2k that I like. I only mentioned the lack of Chrysler quality due to my experience with used cars since I can sell anything I get my hands on at my dealership. From what ive driven a 100,000 mile domestic never drives like a 100,000 mile Japanese/European car and ive seen this time and time again. I wouldn't touch a crossfire just for the fact that its Chrysler badged/benze made product and plain ugly. Not that theyre any better but a solstice or sky is a lot nicer to look at in my opinion

To each their own i guess. Its been my experience that every American car i have owned has given me little to no problems. My daily driver is a 130k mile modified Pontiac. It still has the original clutch. By 110k, my S2k had gone thru 3. My Acura TL has already had a ton of warranty work done on it and its only 2 years old.
I also have another beater Pontiac with 260k and original clutch.
My Dodge Ram has 188k and not a single problem.
Go figure.
Everyone will have their own stories regarding reliability.
I find it hard to believe that you have went through that many clutches on your S2000 unless you were super hard on it, or replacing with terrible aftermarket parts.

I worked for Audi for 6 years, I want to buy a new DD now and in the process of looking. I have a soft spot for Audi's but after moving to work for Lexus and Toyota, I'm torn. If I bought an Audi, I would not get a used one. Despite knowing how to work on them, I would not trust the car after 70k. I've seen the repair bills (being that I wrote them) for these cars (an other German cars) once they are out of warranty and over 60-70k.....no thanks. On the other end though, I'd trust buying a used Toyota or Lexus and wouldn't think twice if it was over 100k miles. Do you know how many Audi's come in for service with over 150k, not may. I've worked on many Toyota's and Lexus's with over 200k, running strong. We have many cars that come here for service over 300k. I can't remember all the exact models, I know one is a 4Runner and one a 99 Camry (both around 300k),97 Tacoma with 690k and T100 with 724k. When I worked for Lexus, I serviced quite a few ES300's and LS400's with 300k+ miles. You will NOT get that reliability out a German car and I say that with the utmost confidence.

Ive never seen a stock Honda go through 3 clutches like that ever.. Im guessing Pontiac and dodge send their better products upto Canada and the opposite with the imports cause Pontiacs in the US are garbage lol

I live in Orange County California....
I laughed at Honda (I actually once took it to them for replacement), when they said i didn't know how to drive stick shift. That was their reasoning why the clutch went out so early.
