s2000 vs rx8
Both are great handling cars but the RX8's engine is just too weak. I don't know how you can get smoked by a RX8 in the S. I know the RX8 handles great but the S is right up there with it. I'm sorry but that has to be bad driving. I'll take on any RX8s(as long as it's not FI) around the twistys any day in my CR. I think the S is a step above the RX8.
RX-8 + MS3 engine = I'd buy one.
But with a ~225hp engine that manages only 20mpg in a 3000 lb. car, no way.
I love the rotary concept, but I wouldn't live with the day-to-day reality (though I have in the past...).

I'd have both, actually. Win/win.

I don't know why Mazda doesn't put a better engine in the RX8. It's such a nice chassis.
****** Mazda.

True. And it'd sell so much better + be cheaper to manufacturer I'm guessing.

Pros: Revs smoothly, linear power delivery, small in size, lighter than piston engines
Cons: Crap gas mileage, burns oil (there are ways around burning oil, just go on rx8club.com)
The small mass and size, helps keep the center of gravity lower to the ground.
Rotaries are part of Mazda's history and image, such as the 787B.
I'm 5'10" and skinny, and I cannot physically get into the back seat of the RX-8. I don't mean it's uncomfortable, I mean I literally cannot put my entire body inside the car. One leg is left sticking out the door.
