Default S2K is totaled :(

Well, long story short I let my brother use my AP1 and a Vette slammed into him on the HWY (he's ok, the car not so much). Luckily my insurance covers anyone who is driving my car and I learned a valuable lesson. Never to let anyone drive my car! So here's the deal. I love my S but now I am thinking I need to get into something that is safer for daily driving. Well, I bit the bullet and went to the Nissan dealership and test drove the Nissan 350Z. I was really surprised and how nice it handled and the lower end power was great. It has front and side air bags and it felt solid. It's definitely a differant monster. I am a true Honda fan so I am torn between getting a new S2000 or possibly getting the Z. Anyone out there have any comments/suggestions to say about the two? I'm trying to stay under 25K so I'll be getting something used.

Don't shy away from the S2000 because you don't think it's safe. They've posted some excellent crash test scores and I've seen hundreds of unbelievable "and we walked away" pictures (I even have a few of my own). If you like the 350 better, then sure, go ahead and take that route but don't do it because you're scared of an S2000.

Your S2000 got totaled by a Vette and the driver is fine, and you're worried about the S2000's safety?

I'd say get another S2000.

Well, since it was my little bro who got into the accident my Mom is freaking out. You know how that goes.

Keep test-driving and taking time, then buy what your heart tells you to.

As for the one who said Nissans have nothing but problem,

i don't understand your logic. you said you want to get into something safer and then you go and add a 350z to your short list. don't discredit the s2k's safety just because it doesn't have a fixed roof.

I think I will keep test driving more cars. What other cars would you suggest? Looking for safe, fun, and sporty under 25K from 04' up.

FYI- I am going to the Honda dealership this weekend to test drive a AP2. I loved the 9K redline but more torque would be sweet!
