I'm surprised that you liked the way the 350z drove and handled after owning an s2000. That is my non biased opinion and the reason why I bought he s in the first place. 350 feels like a boat, basically a nissan mustang. Also plastics were real shitty back then, I don't know about now.

good luck. The way I see it having a better performing car will allow you to steer away from accidents, and brake better to avoid collision. However a small car is a small car, but if thats the case why get another small car?

VW GTi
Mini Cooper S
Mazdaspeed 3
Mazdaspeed 6

If you have to stay under 25k, then it's gonna be a used Z before all of the improvements. So I think you should have driven a used one instead of an 07.

Get a used EVO or STi. They're under $25k, and your mom will think they'e safe since they're 4 door and all wheel drive. They're fun as hell to drive too and the performance potential is unreal.

If you get that on an '03 with 44K, you robbed them. Best of luck. As far as safety is concerned, judging by countless threads I've seen on here, the S2000 is very safe in an accident, and even on a rollover. I'd go for another S, but wouldn't mind a new Z if you had the scratch.

would you be in the market to sell your honda and buy a nissan if this did not happen? can you buy a honda and live with your mom telling you the nissan is somehow safer?

i had this happen, i rear ended a suv, went under it...and then my car was vandalized at the body shop, all in all i got a trunk, hood, fender, lights, and little other damage, oh...a new top and eventually a new top frame...i was temped to sell my little jewel, after all it has been wrecked and then vandalized....i kept it and 6 months later i am still happy with it, in fact i could sell it for another car and these circumstances were justification enough for me to do it, in fact my wife said, the car is jinxed, sell it....

i looked around, drove a couple boxsters and boxster S models...looked at bmw z4M and used z4m roadsters..nothing appealed to me enough to part with my honda...ususally i am thinking about the next car two years into ownership...i just love this car...till further notice.

i would get myself another honda S2000 while they are available, drive to the bay area to pick it up if need be to get a better selection and price.

you will miss this car (S)i expect and the nissan is very different, if it appeals to you after driving it...then get it and have no regrets

If you're in it for safety, you can't beat a closed-roof car. No one can deny this...in this regard, the 350Z/STi/Evo *is* safer than an S2000.

GL on your choice. Personally I love my S, and although it needs a bump in HP -- after driving a wide range of cars, I'd still pick the S2000 for the money.

Kelly Blue Book - Suggested Retail Value

More Photos Condition Value

Excellent
$24,525

Suggested Retail Value Assumes Excellent Condition... More

***This is what I pulled up from ww.kbb.com, I know you can buy an 03' with less miles then $24K. It also depends what area you live in too. Maybe that's why when I was entering the info for the S it asked for my zip code (94558). The Claim Adjuster told me the area effects the "market value" as well. I hope, no, I WISH, I do get around $24K since I only owe $10,600. That would give me $13,400 to put down on a new car. Thanks for the advise everyone! This weekend is definitely going to be an educational expirience test driving all these fun cars

I'll give an update with how much the insurance is going to give me. I am sure glad the S kept it's value!

I would try an STI (quick before the new ugly one is out) or an Evo, they are great cars, and I think more fun than the Z350. beware of insurance, when I checked the STI insurance it was like 40% more than the S2k with most insurance companies. even with clean driving history.
if you can get an 04-05 STI, these are the ones with the noticeable turbo lag and boost, and they sound magnificent, good luck, it's fun shopping for a car

My guess is, the insurance will give you about $22K.
