I call BS on that, I have seen 5 posts myself as a very non-regular viewer on the Sti board of Evo owners trading to Sti's
Call BS on what? I didn't say Evo owners weren't trading for STis, I said STi owners were trading for Evos... There are lots of Evo owners trading, warranty problems become too big of stressors, or their TCs keep going bad, etc etc.

One thing I REALLY like on the Sti is that boxer engine sound. It has a V-twin sound quality to it, especially with an aftermarket exhaust.

Here's something lots of folks probably don't know about. The rumble from the WRX/STi's boxer engine is actually mostly from the unequal length header/manifold, if one was to put a aftermarket equal length manifold it'll take out most of the rumble that resembles a V-Twin. For example, Porsche's boxer engines don't rumble anything like the STi.

i'm interested in both the sti and evo, within the next few months and still keep my S

i like both, the one i wanna choose is the more reliable one with a better warranty

there's a warranty on the EVo.. that can be voided just by sneezing.

I would have to disagree with you, when i was in the WRX crowd I talked to a guy with new headers and it still had the rumble.

Maybe it's due to the following (I'm not trying to start anything here):

Between the two the fastest track car is the EVO

Between the two the fastest 1/4 mile car is the EVO

I'm talking modified cars here. Now this is generally speaking. There are fast STi's out there but they don't seem to show up at many of the EVO vs. STi competitions.

While similar power levels can be obtained in either car, the EVOs far out number the STis in each 1/4 mile bracket: 12's, 11's, 10's

The EVO seems to be cheaper and easier car to get results. This is probably due to the fact that the 4g63 has been around for the last 11+ years so there's been a lot more development on it. It's also the easier engine to work on between the two.

Well, it depends on if the new manifold/header that he got is equal length or not. There are unequal length aftermarket manifolds, then the rumble will still be there.
