What do you guys think about the looks of the 06 sti? And for the present sti owners what sort of gas mileage are you guys seeing in your cars? city? and Highway?

I think it is ridiculous that they have changed the nose for the third time without updating the rest of the body. I don't mind the new nose in itself, but I think it looks better on the wagon. The sedan with the flares is kind of chunky; the nose feels too sleek for the body. But then it was never really a good-looking car, and it isn't all that much uglier now, so I wouldn't let that stop me from getting one.

Not digging the extra wing above the rear window at all, but then I chose to go stealthier on mine with the standard WRX wing.

I haven't driven it much since gas prices really spiked; before that I didn't pay much attention, just knew that it was somewhere around 20 - probably like 19 - in mixed driving. I will pay more attention next time I fill up. Some guys can supposedly milk it to 25mpg but you would really have to keep it out of boost.

I vomit a little in my mouth when I see the new ones..

I get about 15-20 mpg...depends on the drive. The same with my ol' 04 STi...the 05' I like better (to understand this, you have to have read the posts about my nightmares with my 04'..)...

Thanks for the feedback austinpike and Zo6-killer. I think that the 05 was better looking personally, but the new look wouldnt keep me from buying it. I was however interested in the gas mileage seeing how expensive gas has gotten. Any reliability problems with your cars? Your cars get alot of attention from the police?

My 04' was a piece of crap....but it wasn't its fault. It got hit by an old lady, by my ex boss, the windshield was cracked at 21 miles, both wheels were scrapped by a curb (yes the curb jumped at me!), both a tailight and the brake light were not sealed properly and were leaking, rattle from the rear differential from day one, grinding on 2nd gear at 150 miles...etc...etc.

There are plenty of 04's thought with 0 issues. I knew mine was a freak and completely isolated. My 05' has 1,005 mles and issue free thank goodness!

oh...and about the police, absolutely: they will pull you over every chance they get, especially if you remove the muffler..
