Or spend some money on a racing school and just out drive your buddies? Given an unexperienced C6 Vette driver vs. and experienced S2000 driver, should be a close race. I think that if you go FI (turbo especially) every turn you try to power out of with them will send you in a 180. Power doesn't make you fast, talent does.

Or sell your car/house and buy a C6 Z06. Some day when I can handle a 500hp 3100lbs car that's what I'll do. Right now a 240hp 2800lbs car is more than a hand full.

It doesn't take much talent to put the accelerator to the floor and pull away on the straightaway. If you are both novices, there is about a 50/50 chance as to which one of you will turn faster lap times. But the vette is a faster car overall, and a much faster car in the straights.

The S2000 is going to be a much easier car to learn on, though. You should be able to get closer to the car's limits faster by driving the S2000 on the track than by driving the vette. High horsepower and broad torque will cover up a lot of bad technique -- right up until the driver gets so far over his head that he crashes the car.

Get 200 pounds out of the car and you'll be on your way. Get a 70mm single exhaust to help with the weight and added power.

Boost will help, but the lack of torque (AHHH, I can't believe I just said those words) will always be there.

Thanks for the replies... I guess the conclusion is that with SC and simple mods I won't be able to keep up at the track... I think I can outdrive them upto a degree b/c I autoxed quite a bit and tracked a few times (and my friends haven't done any), but I guess the power difference is too great... T-T

Actually, we said that your only hope is to outdrive them. There is no way to modify the car to be faster than their cars. That is different from saying "there is no way to keep up at the track".

keep in mind a sc is 300hp PEAK. you wont match the LS7's super flat torque curve. Bottom line: supercharged or not, the vette will still pull on u pretty hard in the straights.
idiot... An s2k putting down 300 rwhp will take a c5 vette in a straight line....
