You rarely have anything good to say, why bother posting? Oh yes that's right, to show off your e-peen.

Actually, we said that your only hope is to outdrive them. There is no way to modify the car to be faster than their cars. That is different from saying "there is no way to keep up at the track".
As far as the drivers are concerned, I am somewhat more experience than them. I autoxed quite a bit in my WRX, so I think I can outdrive them up to a degree (they have no experience), but S2000 is a completely different beast that I am trying to learn
so I am not sure how much the experience will help... hopefully good enough to keep up with them
Good luck. Keep us posted. Worse case scenario if you lose this time, change all his mirrors and seat positions when he is not paying attention. Might gain you a few seconds in the begining.

S/C and if you have a lot of cash to spend maybe a stroker kit to make up for some torque? Cams? TODA makes a lot of quality high performance parts for our cars, but are pretty extensive, and expensive. New final gears would help a lot, also shave off as much weight as you can (take out pass. seat, spare tire, etc.) New coilovers, Bigger brakes/wheels, and for a decent fairly cheap easy thing would to get a strait pipe. And of course take some racing classes. is it possible to beat them? In a word yes, it all depends on what you are willing to do, and your limits (money, how extensive you want to mod, etc.) Being a better driver is probably the #1 thing to help you here.
Ask any track rat -- there is nothing as fun as turning faster laps than some guy in a much hotter car. Even better is when you talk to them afterward in the paddock and they ask what mods you have -- "track tires and brakes, but everything else is basically stock...." They start to hide their womenfolk from you, because now they are running scared!

<-- Track "Kills" = Noble M12, Porshe GT3 (HEAVILY modified.) (Those are the interesting ones.)
In the interest of "fair disclosure" I have been passed by all mannor of car too. I have had my bad days too.
