I personally don't think you have too much to worry about. As groundbreaking and great as the NSX is, Honda has a way of not keeping models (or even model names) around to evolve them. Plus, it sounds like alot of the lead engineers who designed the NSX and s2000 are moving on or retiring, so we will probably see something different from what we are used to.
To be fair, this new car sounds like it is going to have a great engine and it doesn't hurt for Honda to have a true AWD performer in its line-up. Besides, if it flops maybe Honda will bring the NSX back later on in the original mid-engine format.
Time will tell.

It doesn't matter since we have been seeing the drawings/photos/concept/prototype for four years now and they just keep changing it.
