Seems, then, like it'd be a good idea to take a J's or Amuse car and bolt on an extra 100hp.
Im sorry, but that makes no sense. Please inform me.

comptech car = something pretty much every person with an S can afford to do..
j's and amuse car = something only certain people can afford to do..

Speaking of irrelevant.
Buying an S has nothing to do with your topic. Your logic is flawed my friend.

BTW, turbo pwr hit it right on the head. The comptech S never competed against any JDM S's.
i never said that it did. what i did say is that all of the cars (j's, comptech, amuse, etc.) all perform beautifully. and if so, why hasn't the comptech garnished the attention like its JDM counterparts.

the J's or amuse cars will destroy a comptech car on the circuit....it has already been proven

Can anyone clarify these aparently conflicting statements?

This thread belongs in S2000 talk, not car talk.

Honestly about this thread I could care less. My guess is that Comptech is in America and NOT from Japan. Therefore people don't envy it as much.

I think the Comptech tuned cars have received some significant attention. The major car magazines have done features on the cars and have been favorable in their reviews.

The only JDM car I've ever seen reviewed by a major magazine was the Mugen car by King Motorsports. That car was reviewed favorably, but dinged a bunch of points for the cost factor.

Also remember most of the people who have JDM parts have what I would deem as "appearance mods". The CF Hoods, wings, etc. Comptech doesn't really do much in terms of exterior modifications.

That doesn't make sense?

Take a JDM tuned and idolized car that "will destroy a comptech car on the circuit" and bolt on a Comptech SC (an extra 100hp).

If anyone wants to argue that it'd be slower go right fing ahead.

I've been thinking about this some more and I think your original assessment is wrong. You stated that Comptech isn't emulated as much in the S2000 crowd. Think of how many Comptech SC are running around. How many Amuse exhausts are running around. No one really emulates the entire tuner car. It would cost to much, even if you went with all Comptech parts you are looking at a pretty chunk of change.

Umm, the majority of the Comptech catalog is based on building a Supercharged street car with broad appeal. I think for my driving skills an extra 100whp is a bit much. But I do want to make the car faster. But I like a different kind of fast. An all around fast. 2-3 people have made stupid remarks about the Comptech car being faster or should be faster because it has an extra 100whp. If you said this or feel this, you're an idiot. I'd take a 220-250whp car that weighs 2100-2500lbs (like an Amuse, ASM, or J's Racing car) over a 300whp car weighing in at 2900lbs.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the JDM poser Race part wearing show cars almost as much as I hate HP hungry ricer fanboi's.

Proof?
Comptech dual SS exhaust vs. Amuse R1000 or J's 70RR
Comptech headers gains vs. the J's Racing's headers gains
Functional aerodynamic benefit of the Comptech side skirts vs. full J's racing body kit
Comptech Coil/Sleeve Coilover kit vs. ASM Sachs suspension kit
