Default ZR1 Production Numbers

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/06/corvett...nits-worldwide/

GM hasn't run its fuel economy test yet, but in a previous release from the General, it expects the ZR1 to be the most fuel-efficient 600-hp vehicle on the market. Juechter did say that the ZR1, "will be somewhat less [fuel-efficient] than a Z06," which is currently rated at 15/24 by the EPA, "and we expect a small gas-guzzler tax [on the ZR1]." Production will be limited to 2,000 units each year for worldwide consumption and pricing will be revealed sometime this month.
Good luck getting one. Huge markups are going to be the norm.

2000 units per year world wide actually doesn't seem that bad for a $100K+ car. I'm sure the US will get the bulk of the cars too.

I know a guy that has 10k down on one promised at MSRP. I called my local dealer and they said they have an allotment for 2, but won't take a deposit yet.

I tried to go in with a buddy to get one at MSRP from a dealer that has only ever sold cars at MSRP (even when the Z06 was brand new). We were going to flip it for a $25k+ profit, but when he called his sales guy, he was told that MSRP is a no go on this one. Damn.

10.1@139mph....thats uh........19mph FASTER than the GTR.

my good buddy works for chevy, and a vette production rep was at their dealer for a zone meeting reguarding handling procedures and sales procedures for the new ZR1. they have two inbound for their dealer. he got talking to the rep about the new Z and its HP/TQ and the rep said that in final production testing those were the times they we're seeing. we'll see what happens when it gets road tested.
