C7 Vette

Saw the Detroit show coverage and photos starting to appear on the web. People actually like that rear end? I think it's hideous! Side shots and the front look very nice. Ditto the interior redesign. But that butt. Eyuck! Maybe that's the price of supercardom, a ridiculously cartoonish rear view like a Pagani. 4 exhausts? OK, not over the top. But the rest of the butt????? I'm not getting it.
As for the specs, 450 HP with direct injection and variable displacement along with a 7 speed manual.....wow! Have your cake and eat it too! The Chevy small block continues to amaze me. I believe one of the test engineers was quoted saying they've gotten up to 32 mpg in steady cruising at highway speeds. Very cool for the level of performance. Lets see Maranello beat that for 50 grand with a 5 yr / 100,000 mile warranty.

Styling is always subjective, but I think the list of improvements they've made (probably most notably the interior) makes this an attractive car. Just wish I could afford one!
FWIW, I personally find the new styling "striking." Not necessarily "pretty" though. (Edit: credit to Jeremy Clarkson for that description, let's be honest.)

Exterior greatly improved. Same for interior, except it looks like the driver gets a cockpit and the passenger gets...excluded, or shoved off to the side. Probably doesn't feel that way when you're in it, but the photo looks that way.
