Did you try turning on the heater?

Sorry to give you crap, but "I was cold" is probably the weirdest justification I've ever seen on Car Talk for avoiding a car.

Either too dumb to turn on the heater, or too lazy to get it fixed under warranty.

i drove the equus the genesis the sonata to me they were all polished pieces of shit. they actually all broke down on me. No I didn't buy one, but the army did.

what cars does the genesis surpass? my car is 10 years old and I know I can do circles around it.

Korea was just generally cold. In all seriousness, if I was in the market for a new car i'm sure i wouldn't get a genesis.

Genesis Coupe: beats Honda Accord (or any Honda for that matter), Toyota Solara, Nissan Altima, too close to call vs. G37 depending on your priorities.

Genesis Sedan: beats any sedan fromt the Japanese non-luxury brands (i.e. ex. Acura, Lexus, Infinity). Beats Acura TL (my in-laws bought an '09, much to my disappointment). Vs. Lexus/Infinity, just depends, but they're very competitive IMO.

Your car (assuming it's the '01 S2000 you have listed), should run circles around these, since it's a sports car and the Hyundais aren't.

Might want to quantify that a bit.

An Accord V6 6MT will hang right there in acceleration and it's WAY better built inside (looks better inside, too). The Genesis Coupe is pretty cheap inside compared to an Accord. Yes, the Genesis is sportier (RWD, less weight, more focused) but it's not "better" in every way (not even close). I prefer the gearbox of the Accord, though the Accord has a terrible clutch. The Accord is a proven car that will get fantastic gas mileage, last 200K miles, has proven resale, and looks pretty good in its own right. Depending on what you want, a Genesis Coupe isn't necessarily a clear winner.

Also consider that a Nissan 370Z (base) will stomp said Genesis Coupe in every performance category, is at least an equal in build quality and interior, and cheaper than a top-of-the-line Genesis Coupe while arguably being a better looking car off the showroom floor...

Yes JonBoy, I know that opinions are like assholes...

My comparisons of the coupe are based on what I'd want to take to the track or on a spirited drive through (hopefully) cop-/traffic-free twisties. FWD = automatic fail from that perspective. I've never seen an Accord at a track day or on a group drive. Agreed on the 370Z, ex. it's more expensive comparably equipped. I didn't name it since I don't think the GenCoupe beats it, plus being a true sports car it's not a direct competitor.

The GenSedan I tested drove fine for what it is - again, rwd is a plus in my book. The TL's interior quality is disappointing even vs. my 3 series, whereas the GenSedan strikes me as a bargain Lexus LS. I bought my M3 after driving the GenSedan, so obviously it didn't check all my boxes, but I was impressed w/ it vs. what they set out to do.

I don't disagree with your points, only the wide brush you painted about the Genesis cars clearly beating their competitors. They're great cars for the money but I'd actually be more drawn to the Sedan (for comfort, sound system, and room) over the Coupe since I can get equal or better handling and acceleration (Mustang GT, 370Z, S2000, RX-8) for similar money in the sports coupe arena.
