Default New Mitsu Ecilipse

The new ecilipse seems to make some nice HP/torque numbers: 263hp/260ftlbs out of a 3.8L V6

Still FWD though. I wonder how much it weights. Should have some good straight line performance.

About 3,500 pounds.

Edmunds did a full test on it and seemed to like it - Link.

But I don't think I'll be getting one...

R&T got 0-60mph in 5.8 and 1/4 mile in 14.4@101. They probably got a ringer.

I dunno, with that hp, torque, and weight I would think it would go faster then edmunds numbers of 6.8 sec 0-60 and 14.9 1/4 mile. Maybe R&T had a 6 speed and edmunds reported the automatic time.

I know there are more variables like gearing but a Acura CL-S 6 speed with 260hp ~232 ftlbs and ~3500lbs could do 60 in ~6 secs and the 1/4 mile in low to mid 14's.

Have to realize that Edmunds is notorius for getting very slow times (some say more realistic).
