Default Opinions please!

I am in the market for a four door sedan and these are the options: Lexus GS300 or GS430, Infiniti M45, and BMW 5 series! I like the look of the Lexus, but I heard the M45 performs better!! I would really appreciate your opinions thanks!

I drove the new gs3000 awd and it was horrible. It drove nice and smooth but, was very, very slow. If you get the Lexus make sure you get the 430, I am sure the extra 50 hp and no heavy awd will make all the difference

Do the GS300 come in RWD?

Depnds on what you are looking for. They had a really good review of these two cars against each other in Autoweek. The M45 pretty much stomps the Lexus GS430 in all performance catagories. Lexus is more about plush, with lots of electronics. If it is for driving around the family then Lexus. If it is for driving around family, with occasional canyon carving then go for the M45 Sport. Hopefully Lexus (as it has done in the past) will introduce a sport package. Or if you want to wait a bit, might be worth waiting for the Lexus GS 450h. Hybrid V6 with claimed 350+ hp.

Note: please don't canyon carve with the family in the vehicle.

I still think Lexus is #1a for build quality. That being said, anything they build other than the IS300 feels too plush for me. I'd test both the M45 and GS430 and see if you rather have the edge in sport or comfort.

PS... you should just wait for the M5.

At that price point I'd have a hard time not at least test driving the 300 SRT8.

The new 5-series now has the 360hp 4.8L V8 from the 750i which should kick it up a notch. However the exterior of the 5-series makes my eyes bleed. I'd rather have a smaller and lighter and better looking car a-la the 330i for less duckets.

The CTS-V is also one of the top cars in this class if you're old enough to drive a caddy.

Also (IMO) since we're speaking of 4000 lbs cars so by rule they're heavy boats you could do worse than getting a big car like the LS430 which is full of style and luxury. The LS430 is surprizing light at ~4000 lbs.
